1. Prepare your request
Send a POST with a non-empty query. Add a fresh client-generated x-parthound-operation-id for each purchase: 22–64 URL-safe characters (A-Z a-z 0-9 _ -).
POST https://api.getparthound.com/v1/source-product
content-type: application/json
x-parthound-operation-id: <fresh-unique-id>
{
"query": "American Olean A8262 6-inch V-cap tile",
"manufacturer": "American Olean",
"partNumber": "A8262",
"constraints": {
"colors": ["almond", "ivory", "bone"],
"quantity": 6
}
}2. Inspect the payment offer
The unsigned request returns HTTP 402 with a PAYMENT-REQUIRED header. Verify the exact network (eip155:8453), native USDC contract, amount (250000 atomic units), and receiving address before signing. PartHound currently supports externally owned wallets (EOAs), not smart-contract wallets.
3. Authorize and retry
Use an x402-compatible client with a Base mainnet EVM signer. Sign the offered EIP-3009 authorization, then repeat the same request body with PAYMENT-SIGNATURE and the same operation ID. Configure a strict $0.25 per-request spending limit.
4. Read the report
A successful response returns HTTP 200 with ranked matches, source evidence, warnings, and a human-readable summary. Save the x-parthound-request-id and operation ID for support.
Payment safety
If payment outcome is uncertain or delivery is interrupted, do not pay again. Contact support@getparthound.com with your wallet address and operation ID.
